Desjardins adheres to the Code of Conduct for the Credit and Debit Card Industry
April 15, 2011
Last April, Canada’s Minister of Finance introduced a Code of Conduct addressed to the credit and debit card industry. This initiative, fully supported by Desjardins, followed the repercussions faced by merchants as a result of Visa and MasterCard payment network pricing changes.
The new Code of Conduct is intended to better inform merchants of the costs associated with accepting card payments, thereby allowing merchants to reasonably forecast their monthly costs related to such payments.
Desjardins Card Services has always adopted a policy of clarity in terms of merchant information and completely adheres to the guidelines of the Code of Conduct.
