METRO INC. is the first retailer in Canada to adopt the new end-toend encryption solution launched by Desjardins. This solution, designed in partnership with point-of-sale terminal manufacturer Ingenico, eliminates exposure of credit card numbers in the retailer’s payment process. The solution is designed to encrypt and protect card data as the card is read on the merchant terminal, reducing the risk of fraud and fraud-related costs while complying with the strictest standards of Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standard (PCIDSS).
