Implementation Process

1- File opening and credit analysis

The file can only be opened once the merchant has a functional website, an Internet catalogue (shopping cart) and a host. Desjardins Card Services can then carry out the administrative steps and do all necessary credit checks. A merchant number is issued two to five days after Desjardins receives all necessary information from the merchant. An agreement is sent to the merchant to confirm that the account has been opened.

To reduce administrative delays when opening the file, the merchant must know that he may be asked to provide certain documents:

Legal documents (resolution authorizing signatories in the case of a non-profit organization)
Financial statements (may be required)

2- NETBANX gateway integration request at Optimal Payments

Once the merchant file is open at Desjardins, the merchant’s information is sent to Optimal Payments for follow up and integration. The Optimal Payments team is responsible for contacting the merchant and sending them an enrolment form and an agreement. The merchant is responsible for filling out and signing the documents before faxing them to Optimal Payments. With this information, the team can now open an account in their systems and send an activation e-mail to the merchant. This e-mail encourages the merchant to contact the support team to start the integration process.

3- Integration, accreditation and implementation

The duration of the integration depends on many factors, such as the integrator's experience and the type of solution. Optimal Payments' support services assist the merchant's integrator by being available 24 hours a day and by sending all the required technical documentation.

At the end of the integration process, the merchant's integrator must fill out a self-evaluation form to proceed to the final accreditation. Once everything has been approved, Optimal Payments completes the integration until the implementation phase.

The site is functional, and the merchant can receive a one-hour training on the online administrative module with the Optimal Payments technical support team.
